There are several ways to lose weight; each has got its own merits and demerits depending on one’s  personality and suitability. Out of the two, the best way is regular and consistent slow weight loss, which does not require too much monitoring on a daily basis. Most doctors often recommend this plan because it protects you from rebound weight gain. It is flexible and works well on the principle of changing habits and behaviors rather than changing lifestyle in a dramatic manner.

Strategy 1:

This plan includes three days of brisk walking for 45 minutes to 1 hour alternated with three days of yoga practice. If you are very fond of eating weight gain offenders such as fried food, junk food – don’t avoid them, rather eat in small quantities to quench your temptation. You need to consciously avoid overeating foods. Eat all regular meals and never skip any meal at all. Take light dinner and eat early. And if you are going for a party – choose non-oily foods in small quantities. In addition, drink at least 10 glasses of water everyday and learn to cook healthy food so that your family grows accustomed to healthy eating. Develop the habit of eating fruits, salads, and green veggies.

Strategy 2:

This plan is most suitable for women who do not have patience but at the same time they enjoy chasing goals and difficult challenges that come in their ways. No starvation is needed in this plan. The basic concept behind this plan is the rotation of food and avoidance of some food combinations, which are not suitable for a healthy body and mind.

Breakfast: Boiled eggs or sprouts with papaya and fresh lime juice

Lunch: Brown rice with lots of vegetables

Dinner: Sautéed vegetables with salad.
