Overweight is not only a health problem rather it is also an enemy of your beauty. Therefore, it is important to have some control on it. It is sad to say that men and women both possess misconceptions about weight loss and there is an urgent need to get rid of such myth.
I have tried to figure out some of the general misconceptions about weight loss:
Sugar consumption increases weight: It is one of the most common misconceptions among people and that is why they often avoid sugar in tea or use low calorie sweetener. Well, if a person is suffering from diabetes then it is important to avoid sugar otherwise its not a good practice to avoid sugar in tea or coffee.
Sugar contains simple carbohydrates, which are readily soluble in water and it does not freeze inside the body. So, if a healthy person avoids sugar to reduce weight, it is of no use. However, one can definitely avoid excess intake of milk products such as chocolates, ice-creams and sweets.
Dieting helps reduce weight: Many people who are suffering from weight problem often find dieting as the most easiest way to reduce weight. However, most of them don’t really understand the meaning of dieting. The literal meaning of dieting is the act of restricting your food intake. Many people eat less as compared to their general intake capacity. They also reduce eating rice, flour, and other nutritional food items. This is not a healthy practice and in no way help reduce excess weight.
However, if you take balanced diet including carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and essential minerals, you will feel more fit from inside. In addition, there is a need to add some physical activities in your daily lifestyle. Physical activities may include yoga, meditation, a brisk walk, gardening, etc.
Weight loss capsules are very effective: In today’s media centric world, people rely more on what they see. However, there is no guarantee that whatever you see on television is true. Weight loss capsules are also in great demand today just because of the eye-catchy advertisements. These capsules are being made by many leading pharmaceutical companies using some unique ingredients. However, the bitter truth is that they are not effective in reducing fats from the body. The rich ingredients provide energy and vigor to the body but in no way help reduce weight.
Eat less to reduce weight: It is another one of the most common misconceptions that eating less than your usual appetite helps reduce weight. It is again an unhealthy practice — never compromise with food. If you want to reduce weight then you can eat balanced diet – eat low calorie food; avoid fat rich diet and add some physical activities in your daily lifestyle.
